Co owner of the perfect 5th grew up in Taunton but after a few years away decided it was time to return when the opportunity of running an exciting new entertainment venue in Taunton was presented to him.
"Having grown up in Taunton most of my fondest memories are from nights out socialising with friends in various pubs and clubs, our main objective is for the venue is to create great memories for customers, staff, and ourselves. We want to get people back into Taunton, entertain them and to enjoy each other’s company in a friendly, relaxed environment"
Mark McEvans
After growing up in Taunton then moving away and around, I returned home to ponder my purpose & future.
An opportunity in the venue was then unexpectadly presented before me and I knew instantly that I had to do my best to make it into what is now called 'The Perfect 5th'. 12 months down the line and a few late nights, I find myself with a unique opportunity that i'm sure can make a difference to many.
"The live music scene has never really been a part of my growing up in Taunton yet something i've always been deeply passionate about, i'm sure a venue like this will attract musicians of different abilities and genres, along with people of all ages. I hope we can share great memories and enjoy together such an important art in our day to day lives”
What is a Perfect 5th?
The perfect 5th is an important interval in tonal music. It is more consonant, or stable, than any other interval except the unison and the octave.
It is a valuable interval in chord structure, song development, and western tuning systems.
It occurs on the root of all major and minor chords (triads) and their extensions.
It was the first accepted harmony (besides the octave) in Gregorian chant, a very early formal style of musical composition.
